Equius had slept through the whole car ride, but woke up when Taliya got out of the car. He started shaking when they entered the vet. Taliya went to the counter, while Gamzee sat down. He looked around and noticed that only one other person had a Troll. He moved over, going to the lady with the Troll. "Excuse me," he said, sitting down. She looked at him. "Yes?" "Uh, my sister and I just got a Troll. Are they hard to care for?" The girl rose a brow. "Well, I hevan't had her very long, but not really." The Jade-blooded Troll looked up, green eyes a little dull from the exhaustion of a stomach ache keeping her up. "I think I depends on the age of the Troll." Gamzee thought for a second. "He's, um... around a year old?" The girl blinked. "Oh. Well... I would imagine you'd care for him as if he were a baby." Gamzee nodded. "I'm Gamzee, by the way." Taliya sat down next to Gamzee, handing him the paperwork. "That's Taliya, and Equius." The girl smiled. "I'm Olyrai. This is Nensho." (A/N: I BET YOU THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA BE ROSE AND KANAYA.)

The three humans fell silent. "Ms. Nitram (A/N: Olyrai is Tavros's sister in Humanstuck.)? Dr. Harley can see you and Nensho." Olyrai stood, smiling at the siblings again and going to see the doctor. Gamzee looked at Equius, who was shaking and whimpering. "Olyrai said that Trolls are easy to care for." Taliya nodded, watching Gamzee fill out the paperwork and stand, giving it back to the receptionist. He came back, patting Equius's head. The Troll whined, his horn still hurting. Gamzee immediatly brought his hand back. "Oops." Taliya sighed. "Hopefully Jade can give him some pain meds," she said, rubbing Equius's back. He curled into Taliya's chest, still whimpering.

After a while, Olyrai came back out. She gave Gamzee her number, since Taliya's hands were full. "Call me if you have any questions." She grinned, along with Nensho. "I'll be happy to help," Olyrai said, waving and leaving. Gamzee put the card in Taliya's bag, sighing slightly. "Nitram... You think she's related to Tavbro?" Taliya shrugged. "Who knows?" The receptionist looked up. "Taliya, Gamzee, and Equius." Taliya and Gamzee stood, while Equius gripped Taliya's shirt even tighter. They walked back, with Taliya smiling at Jade.

"Hey, Jade," she said. Jade grinned. "Hey, Taliya! I didn't know you got a Troll." Taliya put Equius on the table, unclamping his hands from her sweater. "Well, we just found him today." She took her jacket off of him. "Some asshole decided to break his horn, teeth, then leave him outside with barely any clothes on during winter," Gamzee growled, sitting in a chair. Jade gasped in disgust. "That's horrible!" She walked over to Equius, while Taliya sat next to her brother. Jade began to examine him, moving a little slow so she wouldn't scare him anymore.

"Was he showing signs of sickness when you found him?" Taliya shook her head. "No. He was just shivering. Probably frombeing cold." "And being left alone," Gamzee grumbled. He hated animal, and children, abuse. It reminded him of when he was little and his dad would drink a lot. He was happy that Taliya couldn't remember.

"...He seems to be only 8 months old," Jade said, making Gamzee confused. "But, how does he have teeth?" Jade giggled slightly, weighing the Troll. "Well, wrigglers have teeth when they're born; they needed them so they could protect themselves if the parents weren't around." Gamzee nodded. Taliya looked a little worried. "His teeth are broken, how will he eat?" Jade put Equius back on the table, smiling. "Well, there's a special formula for wrigglers. You can buy it at pet stores," she said, handing Taliya a box of formula. "Plus, they have clothes for Trolls. Toys. Bath items. Toiletries. Everything you could think of." Jade handed Gamzee a bottle. "Give that liquid painkiller too him every 4 hours, if needed. I would've given you pills, but he's too young." Gamzee took the formula from Taliya. Taliya picked up Equius, who clung to her again. "Anything else besides the horn and teeth?" Jade thought. "...He might get a slight cold from being out in this weather. Other than that, he'll be fine. If he gets a cough, regular cough medicine should help." Taliya nodded. "Thanks, Jade." Jade hugged Taliya carefully. "'Course. Wouldn't leave a friend like that." They left, saying bye to Jade.

Taliya put Equius in her jacket again, making him smile slightly. They got into the car, and Gamzee started the engine. He cranked up the heat, making Equius sigh happily. Gamzee started driving home, glad he didn't have to work until the day after tomorrow. Taliya held Equius close, rubbing his back. He continued to cling to her, not wanting to be left alone again.

When they got to their apartment building, the landlord looked at them strangely. "You two got a kid?" Taliya snorted. "No. We found a Troll." The landlord nodded, scowling slightly. "Freaks a' nature," he muttered, making Taliya frown. She and Gamzee walked to their apartment, entering the homey place. Equius looked up, ears perking slightly. Gamzee put the formula and medicine on the coffee table, going back to the door. "You stay here with him, Lil' Sis. I'm gonna go buy the things he needs." Taliya wrote the items on a piece of paper, handing it to her brother. He smiled, heading back out and shutting the door.

Taliya took her jacket off of the small Troll, making him whimper. She rubbed his back, sitting on the couch. "Do your horn and teeth hurt?" He nodded. She opened the bottle, measuring out the amount he needed. She helped him drink it. When he was done, he made a face. She laughed, putting the small plastic cup on the lid. "I know it's nasty, but you need to drink it." Equius nodded, laying his head on her chest. While he was lying there, Taliya got a good look at him.

He wasn't big, only as big as a cat, and he was very thin. His horns are small, showing his age. He was wearing a dirty tank top and shorts, and his long hair was matted and filthy. He had blue bags under his eyes, telling Taliya that he was a blue-blood. He was bruised, and his eyes showed how frightened he was.

Taliya put on a motherly smile. "How about we give you a bath, huh?" She stood, making him twitch from the sudden move. She debated whether or not to give him a bath in the sink, seeing as he was so small. She finally decided to use the tub; she just wouldn't fill it very much.

Taliya got the supplies she needed, putting them on the sink counter. She put Equius on the toilet seat, and started filling the tub. While the water was running, she undressed him gently. She frowned when she saw even more bruises. She even saw a mark around his neck from where someone tried to choke him. She turned off the water, sighing. "Poor baby," she cooed, picking him up after taking his soiled diaper off and throwing it in the trash. "What did they do to you?"

She put him in the warm water, making him shiver from the sudden tempurature change. Taliya started washing him gently, using her own soap. Equius purred from the water, and enjoyed the smell of the body wash. Taliya giggled at the purr, scrubbing the dirt off of him gently. "I'm Back, sis!" Gamzee's voice drifted through the apartment. "We're in the bathroom, Gamzee!" Gamzee walked in, putting the bath stuff on the edge of the tub. Taliya wet Equius's hair, using the special shampoo carefully. Equius purred louder, making Gamzee chuckle. Gamzee went back to the living room, putting the items he bought on the coffee table.

Taliya finished washing Equius, unplugging the tub. As she got the towel, Equius laughed. He enjoyed watching the water swirl down the drain. Taliya grinned, picking the Troll up with the towel. She dried him as she walked to the living room. He purred, snuggling into the soft towel. She sat down, pulling him into her lap. She removed the towel, laying him on the couch. Taliya put a new diaper on him, then proceeded to put him in new clothes. Gamzee walked by, carrying his old clothes. "I'll wash his other outfit," he said, going to the building's washroom. Taliya smiled, taking the brush and brushing Equius's hair.

Equius purred loudly, smiling lazily. Taliya made sure she was extra gentle when it came to the knots and tangles in his fine hair. He started falling asleep again, leaning against his new owner. Taliya smiled. "You sleepy, baby?" She put the brush down. Equius clung to her sweater again. "M..." He tried to say something. "My... M... Mama..." He purred, falling asleep in Taliya's hold. Taliya's eyes widened and her face dropped in shock. "M-mama?" She gulped slightly.

"I'm... a mama?"
