The bright red Grub hissed at you agnrily. "Karkat?! What happened to you?!" You didn't expect an answer, of course. He just hissed at you again. You reached for him with one hand, but he bit your finger. "OW!" You pulled your finger back, putting it in your mouth and sucking the blood off. You glared down at him, making him glare back. 'Even as a Grub he's grumpy.' You picked him up quickly, holding up at eye level. He squealed and thrashed, dropping from your grip and falling on the floor. You watched as he climbed back up into the basket, glaring out at you from under the blanket. "Alright. Ya wanna be like that? Fine." You got up, and walked into the kitchen.

You started making yourself some lunch, while cutting up some food for Karkat. You walked back into the living room and put the plate of food in front of the basket. You walked up the stairs and into your's, and Karkat's, room. You grabbed [Favorite book] and headed back down the stairs. You lied down on the couch, opening your book and eating your lunch. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Karkat stick his head out. He looked at you, so you pretended to be busy with your book. He slowly crawled to the plate of food and started eating. You smiled as he ate, finishing off your lunch. Once he was done, he crawled back into the basket. You took his plate, and yours, into the kitchen. As you walked back into the living room, you heard Karkat whimper. "Karkat?" You saw him curled into himself, holding his abdomen.

You picked him up, agains his protests, and set him against your shoulder. You patted his back, rocking back and forth. Soon enough, Karkat relaxed and burped. Quite loudly for a Grub, too. You smiled and put him back in the basket. You lied back on the couch, closing your eyes. For some reason, you felt tired. Karkat yawned a little, feeling tired himself after the meal. He looked at you, wondering why you were just laying there. He squeked curiously, making you open your eyes and look at him. You smiled tiredly at him. He squeaked again, reaching for you. You picked him up and set him on your chest. He snuggled into your chest. The heat from your body and lullaby of your heart made his eyelids heavier. Soon enough, you both fell asleep.

##With Crabdad##

"SKREE. I'm gonna get the boy when I find him." Crabdad hissed to himself. The newest computer Karkat had gotten had been destroyed. Again. Crabdad walked around the hive, looking for his son. When he got to the living room, he saw your head leaning off of the side of the couch. "[Name], CLACK, have you-" He saw a familiar Grub sitting on your chest, making his eyes soften. 'I've never seen Karkat that calm before...' Crabdad thought. It was true, Karkat had a serene look on his face. A big change from his usual grumpy and hateful stare. Crabdad smiled slightly, carefully picking you up. You mumbled in your sleep, as did Karkat. He clung to your shirt tighter, instinctivly making sure he didn't fall. Crabdad sat on the couch, putting you in his lap. 'I remember when I used to do this with Karkat when he had a horrible nighmare, SKREE.' He smiled, memories of Karkat's wriggler days flooding back to him.

Karkat started glowing, drawing Crabdad's eyes to him. Karkat flashed brightly, before turning back into the full grown Karkat everyone was used too. He was still asleep, and he started falling over. Crabdad caught him, pulling him to his other side. He put a blanket around Karkat, with some difficulty, so he wouldn't get sick, since he had no clothes on. Crabdad would've woken him up, but... he just couldn't. Subconciously, he wanted to do something from Karkat's wriggler days, so he just let Karkat and you sleep.

##Later, Still with Crabdad##

"How the hell did that happen?!" Karkat yelled as he put his shirt on. You blushed, facepalming. "Heck if I know! I'm still made at you for biting me!" "I wasn't myself! I'm sorry!" Crabdad laughed slightly, watching you two argue. The hive's been more lively since you moved in, and Crabdad likes it. It reminds him of when Karkat was more active and would crawl around the hive, and play games with Crabdad. To be honest, he was dreading the day Karkat got his Matesprit, fearing he'd fall for someone who was... well... like Vriska. When Crabdad found out it was you, he was still a little skeptical. But, he saw how you helped Karkat, and he was overjoyed by the fact it was YOU Karkat chose. Crabdad watched as Karkat hugged you and smiled wider. 'My little wriggler's growing up...' Well... he can let the computer thing go. This time.
