We walked back into the back hall. We stood infront of the resting group. "How's your leg Ludwig?" Tyne asked. "Its well enough to walk on." She nodded. The others sat down, trying to calm down after the monster episode. I was about to sit next to Mattiew, when Tyne grabbed my wrist. I looked at her, and she nodded her head away from the group. "I need to talk to you. Alone." She pulled me to a secluded area of the back hall, and looked at me. "Alright, spill it." I crinkled my eyebrows. "Why do you keep getting mad at me?" Realization dawned on me. 'Of course she was gonna notice. She can easily tell when someone's pissed...' I sighed, running my hand through my dirty hair. When we get home, I'm taking SUCH a long shower. "I... I don't ... I don't know!" I yelled. I tried to stay calm, but I felt myself start to panic. All this time, trying to hide it. All of the fear, panic, anger, and confusion started coming out at once. "I just... You keep doing EVERYTHING, and I... I just sit in the background, like an IDIOT, and let everyone else take the lead!" My eyes widened in anger, tears brimming them, threatening to spill. I felt my face contort in anger and fear. "I want to help, do something other than sit there, and get us out of here faster! I-I-Its not that hard, is it?! I mean, no offense, but at home, you were one of the scaredy-cats! You would piss yourself when we watched Saw! That wasn't even scary, it was gory!" I felt the tears fall. "I- I-"

Tyne hugged me tight, making me stop my babbling. My chin rested on her shoulder, as I stared, wide eyed, at the wall behind us. My eyes turned to the left, making me look at the back of her head. Her shoulders started shaking a little. "T-Tyne?" "I know what you're trying to say... I understand." She pulled back, but kept her hands on my shoulders. I looked at her face, and saw tears fall, landing on her jacket and on the floor. "You're not mad at me... You're stressed." That would explain why I'm getting mad at EVERYTHING. "...How about this: I'll take a break from searching, and YOU be the leader of the next search group. How's that sound?" I thought for a second, then nodded. She nodded, smiling at me. She took her satchel off, and we headed back to the group. They quieted down as Tyne and I stood infront of them. "Alright, everyone. They'll be a change for the next search group." She glanced at me, and nodded slightly. "Abby is going to be leader this time." Everyone either nodded, or made sounds of agreement. She sat down next to Arthur, and nodded at me. I nodded back and looked at the group.

"So, who's gonna come with me?" Mattiew, obviously, was the first to stand. Good thing too, he still had the oil. Francis joined. "I think I've rested long enough, oui?" Lovino stood, grunting a little. "Me too." Antonio looked at his Italian friend. "A-are you sure, Lovi? You got attacked by that water monster pretty bad." Antonio eyed Lovino's left thigh. "I'm fine, tomato-bastard." Lovino stood next to Mattiew. Alfred stood. "Ya'll are gonna need a hero!" Antonio stood back up. "I'll go too." "Alright," Tyne started. "So, Abby's group will consist of: Mattiew, Alfred, Francis, Lovino, and Antonio." She nodded. "Alright, you guys will be checking that area down there." She pointed to the door down the stairs behind us. I looked at her, confusion written in my eyes. "But... we have the machine room key. Shouldn't we go there?" Ludwig shook his head. "No, from the note Tyne gave me, from the room where you found these scematics, we need three rods." He held up the rod Tyne found. "We only have one. We need you to search down there, and see if you can find the other two. If you can't, the one's who aren't injured will have to back track through the mansion, and see if they can find the rods." I nodded. "Alright, guys. Lets go."

Good thing Tyne let me take the lantern. Its FUDGING DARK. AND THERE'S VAGINA ON THE WALLS AGAIN. (A/N: YAY! Vagina joke! I miss those. XD) We walked into the large main room of the storage area. We reached a counter, and found a tinderbox. "This darkness..." Mattiew whispered. "It doesn't feel right..." I shivered, deciding to ignore that comment. I lit a candle on the counter, so we can find our way back to the main area. I held the lantern up as high as I could, and noticied something straight ahead. "Machine Parts..." I murmered. "Hmm?" Francis looked down the hall. "Alright, Alfred, Mattie, you two come with me. Lovi, Antonio, Francis; you three stay here." Said boys nodded, and Al and Mattie followed me down the hall. We walked down the little stairway, and groaned quietly. There was a large pile of rocks waiting for us, blocking the path to the Machine Parts. 'Damn...' We trudged back up the stairs, and the three boys that stayed behind looked at us.

"There's a roadblock." I whispered, making them groan in frustration. I noticed a door to our right. "Alfred, Mattie, and I'll look in there." They nodded, and we went into the room, shutting the door behind us. I lit a couple torches and turned the lantern off. "How we doing on oil?" I asked, looking a Mattiew expectantly. He dug around his satchel, counting quietly to himself. "We have... 10 jars of oil. Plus what's left in the lantern." I looked at our lantern. "Which isn't much." Alfred handed me two tinderboxes he found. We looked around the medium sized room a little longer. "Hey... what's this?" I heard Alfred mumble. I walked over to him, dodging broken barrel pieced along the way. (A/N: Take that BARRELS. >: D) I looked at the item in question. It was made of wood metal, and it seemed that it could be combined with something. It suddenly clicked. "Its part of a hand-drill." Alfred watched me as I put the drill part in my bag. "Tyne and I made them in shop class, as extra credit." Alfred smirked. "Nice. I need to take that class when we-" We heard someone scream. "Francis?!" I hissed, walking quickly to the door. I looked out of the bars to the steel door, and almost screamed. My eyes widened, and tears flowed down my face, as I watched my friends being dragged away by those slack-jaw monsters. 'My first time as leader, and I let my friends get captured!' Once they were gone, I let out a choked sob. "A-Abby, dude, what's wrong...?" I turned to Alfred. "Those monsters... they took Lovino, Antonio, and Francis...!"

Rubbing my face, I opened the door slowly. We walked back into the main room, and jumped as the torches flickered on. We stared in horror at the walls. 'WHEN GOD IS GONE, AND THE DEVIL TAKES HOLD.' 'WHO WILL HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL?' Things like this were written on the walls. In blood. The coppery stench filled the room, making me cough and gag. My eyes stung from the impact of the stench. The torches blew out, and the smell was gone. 'What is this place...?!' I shook my head, and motioned for the two boys to follow me. We walked swiftly across the main room, and down the stairs. I turned the lantern on, and noticed a door to our immedient right. We went in, shutting the door behind us. My blurred eyes drifted towards the tinderbox and note on the table. I picked up the tinderbox, slipping it into my bag, then picked up the note. 'Huh... its tells you how to create an explosive. Matt's good in chemistry, right?' "Mattiew..." "Hmm?" "You're good in chemistry, right?" He looked thoughtful. "Um... not as good as, say, Tyne or Arthur. But... I've gotten straight B's." I nodded, and handed him the note. "You think you can make this?" He read the note. "Uh, yeah. But... we need to find the chemicals. And a jar to put them in." I nodded. We started out of the room, but stopped when we heard a growl. I quickly turned the lantern off. We sat down on the floor, in a corner of the room, and huddled together. 'Hopefully it won't see us...' It stood outside the door, just growling and snarling. I, then, heard chains rattling. The chains got quieter and quieter, until we couldn't hear them anymore. We slowly stood, and Alfred opened the door a crack. He poked his head out. "...'S all good..." He whispered lowly, opened the door wider. I creaked open, making us wince. We walked out, and headed to the room across the hall. We quickly entered it, and shut the door. Torches were already lit in this room, so I put the lantern on the nearest table. Mattiew handed me a tinderbox, while Alfred handed me another drill part. 'By the looks of it, this is the part you turn...' I put it in my bag.

I picked up the lantern, and turned it on. "Lets go..." We carefully made our way down the hall. We stopped at a door that had opened slightly. Alfred went first, picking up a broken plank of wood. He opened the door slowly, and I held the lantern up higher. We waited. And waited. And waited. 'Nothing...' We walked into the room, Alfred keeping a tight hold on the wood. Alfred went left, and came back with two tinderboxes. Mattiew handed me one from his right. I lit a few torches and turned the lantern off. 'A chest...?' I walked to back right corner of the large, musty room. I opened the chest and my face lit up. "Mattie." He walked over to me, and I handed him a jar of oil, and a bottle of medicine. I put the tinderbox in my satchel. We all met in the middle of the room. "Anything else? Drill Parts? Tinderboxes?" They shook their heads. "Nah, dude. Nothing else." I nodded, grabbed the lantern, and we left the room. We went to the last door in the passageway. Alfred opened the door, holding the wood up. We walked tensely into the room. Alfred shut the door behind us, and the torches burst to life. There, in the corner of the room, was a pile of dead bodies. We nearly screamed, but managed not to. I started gagging as the smell of decaying flesh wafted around the room. I turned the lantern off again, setting it on a nearby barrel. I picked up a tinderbox off of the crate to my right. "Hey, Abby." Mattiew walked up to me, holding a pointed piece of metal in his hands. "Is this another drill part?" I carefully took the metal, and examined it. I nodded, and sat down on the nearest chair. I pulled out all of the drill parts. "Okay..." I licked my lips, and got to work.

"Done!" I whispered victoriously. I held up the, now comeplete, hand drill. "Alright, dudes, let's get out of here. Those bodies are giving me the creeps." I looked at Alfred. "We just saw a monster with its' jaw down to its' chest, and dead bodies are giving you the creeps?" He shrugged. I sighed, and we left that room. We entered the last door in the passage. What caught my eyes first were the huge vats in the room. One had a sign that said "Secondary" above it. The other said "Primary". "It smells like this is where the chemicals are stored." Mattiew murmered. The lantern hissed out. "Dammit! That scared the shit outta me..." Alfred hissed. "Mattiew-" "On it." I heard oil being poured, and the lantern turned back on. "Alright. Now, we just nee- ... AW FUCK. Dammit Arthur." "Hmm?" Mattiew and Alfred looked at me, confused. "Arthur got rid of the chemistry pot!" The boys' faces blanched, then they face palmed. I scrunched my face in anger, then I got an idea. "Mattiew. What about the oil jar?" He looked at the empty oil jar. It was very large, and very wide. His face lit up. "Good thinking Abby!" We walked over to the closest vat, the Secondary, and Alfred grabbed hold of the wheel. Mattiew held the oil jar under the tap-like-thing. Alfred tried to turn the wheel. "N-No use," he grunted. "Its r-rusted to bad. Even I can't get it movin'." 'Great...' I looked at the hand drill in my grip.  "Wait a minute..." I put the pointed tip of the drill on the side of the vat. "Get ready, Mattiew." He crinkled his eyebrows in confusion, then widened his eyes in realization. He nodded, putting the jar under the drill. I started turning the handle, making it drill through the metal of the vat. A small stream of chemicals flowed into the jar, giving me the signal to stop drilling. Once the oil jar was halfway filled, Mattiew pulled away. Mattie and I walked over to the other vat, while Alfred stayed behind to keep an eye on the door. I drilled a hole in the Primary vat, and Mattiew collected enough chemicals to fill the rest of the jar. "Alright," he put the cork back in the jar. "We've got the explosive. Let's go back to the roadblock."

"Now..." I stared at the jar of explosive in Mattiew's hands, and then at the piles of rocks. "How is this gonna work...?" Mattiew set the jar down near the pile of rocks. "Follow me." Alfred and I followed him back up the small staircase. Mattiew pushed me behind him, and Alfred stood behind me. Mattiew picked up a stone. "Cover your ears." I did so. He threw the rock, then covered me. I felt the ground shake a little, and barely heard the explosion. I opened my eyes to find Mattiew looking around, wide eyed. "Mattiew? What's wrong?" "Where's Alfred?" I whipped around, and held the lantern up. 'Alfred...!' The hamburger-loving idiot was nowhere to be found. 'No... FUCK!' I grit my teeth, thenshook my head. "C'mon, we have to keep moving. We'll find him faster if we finish what we need to do here." Mattiew blinked a few times, then nodded. We made our way past the post-explosion rubble, and was greeted with more darkness. We kept walking around, after picking up a tinderbox from the counter, until Mattiew ran into a door. "Ow..." I giggled a little, despite the circumstances. "Hey! That hurt, eh!" (A/N: CANADIAN STEREOTYPE.) He opened the door, and quickly shut it behind us. The smell of rotting meat found its' way into my nose again, making me cough and pull my shirt over my face. I held the lantern up higher, and nearly screamed. I calmed down a little when I realized it was just dead pigs. We searched the room, and left after finding a tinderbox. We left and headed for the stairs that said "Machine Parts" next to them.

We walked up the stairs, and immidiently noticed the chains hanging from the cieling. I saw an outline of something jutting out from the ground in the middle of the room, but couldn't see enough to tell what it was. We, slowly, crept forward. I fell on my ass when the strange thing in the middle of the room lit up by itself. It looked like a destroyed tree... with fire coming out of it. We went into the next room quickly, and shut the door behind us. I noticed a note on the shelf, and picked it up. "Hey, Abby! I found the other two rods! The... Trinity Rod, and the Four Phase Amplitude Rod." he put them in my bag, and I stuffed the note in there too. We heard low growling outside, and froze. I turned the Lantern off and made my way towards the steel door. I looked out of the bars and sighed. It was back. Mattiew and I stayed in the room for who-knows-how-long. Mattiew took of his satchel and handed it to me. "Take this. And don't look back." "M-Mattiew...?" He put the satchel on me, so one was on each side, and hugged me. He kissed me deeply, and then held me arms' length away. "No matter what'll happen Abby, remember this: I'll always love you." He picked up a broked shelf piece, and flung open the door. The monster turned to him, and lunged. When the montster's back was to me, Mattiew screamed. "RUN ABBY!! DON'T LOOK BACK!! JUST RUN!!" I hesitated, tears flowing down my face as I watched him fight. "GO!! NOW-AUGH!" The monster sliced his right arm. "Go Abby...!" I nodded and ran. I ran up the stairs, and back into the first main area. I could hear the monster's roars and Mattiew yells of pain. I let out a chocked sob. I wanted, so despiratly, to go back and help. But... I had to get back to the others. I had to give them the rods. 'Mattiew... I'm sorry...' "I love you..." I sobbed as I opened the door to the back hall.

I walked back into the back hall, my face emotionless. I looked up and around when I heard sobbing. "T-Tyne?" I looked around the empty back hall, which had begun to fill with the strange organic material. I looked at Tyne. She looked back up at me, tears flowing down her face as she tried to calm her breathing. "W-where's everyone else...?!" "I couldn't save them..." I kneeled next to her. "What?" "We went b-back up to the study, searching for tinderboxes and anything else we can use." She took a deep breath. "When... THEY came out of nowhere. We tried running, but... they got us one by one. Arthur and I were the last two, when he pushed me through the door and locked from his side. I kept beating on the door, trying to open it, but..." She sobbed violently. I hugged her. "Where's-s you're group?" I started sobbing too. "G-gone..." We started crying even harder, and just sat there, holding each other. 'What are we gonna do now...?'
